Petrus gardens are drawn from a horticultural vocabulary built over three decades of study — French parterres, Mughal char bagh, English perennial borders, and California native ecologies.
A garden is a composition in four dimensions — the fourth is time. We choose every plant knowing what it will be in five, ten, thirty years, and we design the transitions between those decades.

Most residential planting is chosen to look full on install day. Ours is chosen to look right in year seven — and to keep deepening from there.

A curated list — usually 40 to 90 species — composed for form, colour, bloom, and longevity.

Sourcing
Ward personally selects specimen trees and structural plants from our long-trusted growers.

Planting oversight
Our horticulturists supervise every install — spacing, orientation, and depth to the inch.
